Arcadia Dental Veneers: What to Expect in Your Procedure

general dentistryFor patients in Arcadia, dental veneers are a great way to improve smiles and gain added confidence in their appearance. If you’ve been unhappy with the alignment, shape, spacing, or color of your teeth, veneers may be the right option for your needs.

Learn from Dr. Charlyn Quiec (“Dr. Q”) about the process. Then, get in touch with her office for an appointment.

Why Dental Veneers?

Veneers are thin layers that fit on the front, visible surface of your teeth. Dr. Q uses these layers to create a more even, attractive smile. Veneers are typically suited for people whose teeth are in generally good health but require reshaping or coloring.

As a patient in Arcadia, dental veneers offer you other benefits as well. You’ll be able to achieve significant aesthetic improvement within a couple of visits to Dr. Q’s practice. Also, Dr. Q chooses high-quality materials and takes the time to fit veneers to your teeth properly. You can expect that your veneers will look natural, work and feel like your existing teeth, and last for years.

Note: If your teeth are in good condition and your only concern is whitening and aligning your smile, Dr. Q may instead recommend a combination of Arcadia Invisalign® and teeth whitening.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Come in for your scheduled appointment with Dr. Q Dental. Our team will make you feel welcome and help you complete any paperwork necessary for your visit.

During our examination, Dr. Q will answer any questions you have and explain the options available to you through our Arcadia practice, including dental veneers. She will conduct an examination to make sure that veneers are a good approach to your dental issues, and she may take X-rays and make an impression of your mouth.

Preparing Your Teeth for Dental Veneers

The next part of the procedure may take place during the same visit. Dr. Q will remove a small amount of enamel from the surface of your teeth. This makes room for the veneers.

Dr. Q is focused on comfort and safety for Arcadia patients. During this part of the dental veneer process, she will take steps to limit discomfort and may use a local anesthetic to numb the area before removing the enamel.

Once Dr. Q has created the settings for the veneers, she will make an impression of the teeth to send to a dental laboratory. She may place temporary veneers until your permanent ones are ready for bonding.

The dental laboratory will design and manufacture veneers specific to your needs. Dr. Q only uses dental laboratories in the United States; she believes that patients receive higher-quality, more durable materials, and she wants to ensure that their investment in dental health lasts.

Bonding the Veneers

About one or two weeks later, we’ll welcome you back to Dr. Q Dental to complete your dental veneers. Arcadia patients will be “dry-fitted” to make sure that the veneers are a good match for their teeth. Next:

  • Dr. Q will clean, polish, and etch the teeth to help with the bonding process.
  • She will apply a special bonding agent to the veneers and place them on your teeth.
  • Dr. Q will use a special light beam to activate chemicals in the bonding agent, which cause it to harden quickly.
  • Finally, she will remove excess cement and makes any necessary adjustments.

You may have a follow-up visit with Dr. Q in the weeks after your treatment to make sure that the veneers are working as intended. Feel free to contact us at any time throughout the process; at Dr. Q Dental, you’ll experience a commitment to your comfort and quality dental care.
